It is a local oil pooling treatment done over the chest. In this an elevated cabin is constructed over the chest region using wet dough of flour of black gram, herbal oils are filled in the cabin and left in place for a fixed amount of time.

In simple words, Uro Basti is oil-pooling treatment conducted for treating chest conditions mainly heart and lung disorders.

Vasti or Basti is a term used to describe the urinary bladder in Ayurveda. Urinary bladder is a bag which holds urine for a certain amount of period till it is voided.

Similarly in Urobasti a compartment is constructed over the chest area by using flour of black gram and the medicated (herbal) oils are pooled in this compartment for a fixed duration of time. Therefore the procedure is called Uro Vasti.

Hridaya basti is a special technique aimed at providing relief to people suffering from heart related diseases using warm medicated oil or herbal decoction, poured on the chest and kept over the chest for 45 minutes.

1) Uro basti is a warming procedure of the chest area and the heart. This type of warming is used in the treatment of respiratory disease (disease of bronchii and lungs ), weakness of the cardiac muscles (myocardial dystropy).
2) Uro basti improves the circulation and breathing functions.
3) Kundalini Yoga: It energizes the Anahata Chakra seated in the heart and thus gives positive influence on the heart and mind energizing the whole body.
4) Relieves stress and anxiety.
